What is the cheapest day to go to Goodwill? ›

According to Goodwill, the perfect time slot to shop at thrift stores is in the morning on both Monday and Tuesday. This is because, at least as far as Goodwill is concerned, people tend to donate garage sale remnants on Sunday, so the pickings are new and fresh come early weekdays.

Homeowners tend to drop off garage sale leftovers on Sunday nights, making for new finds. Plus, the weekends are more crowded shopping days, so employees look to restock early in the week.

Dirty or Unwashed Clothes: Clothes that are dirty or unwashed may not be suitable for donation. It's important to provide clean and hygienic items. Single Socks or Shoes: Single socks or shoes without a matching pair may not be useful. Charities often prefer items that can be immediately used.

We Cannot Accept:

Building and/or construction materials. Mattresses, box springs, waterbeds and accessories, hospital or mechanical beds, commercial furniture and carpeting. Large appliances, televisions. Large furniture that does not fit inside the store donation bins.

Goodwill Can't Accept

Items we can't accept include: Documents containing personal information, including bank statements, passports, checkbooks, medical histories and other, similar materials. Donors should always check their donations for such materials before donating. Paint, household chemicals, insecticides, etc.

When you arrive you will see signs directing you to where you will drop off your items. After you pull up to the doors, a friendly donation attendant will help you unload your items. Then we will be happy to give you a receipt for tax purposes. That's it!

Give a Salary Range

At Goodwill, we strongly recommend that, when negotiating a job offer, you shouldn't name one specific number as the salary you want. Instead, you should give the company a salary range you expect to receive. The actual amount you wish to be paid should be within that range.

The best day to shop at Goodwill, Value Village or any thrift store. Most stores put new items out every day, but there's often a lot more options if you hit them up at the beginning of the month. That's because there's an increase in donations around the first, when people are moving.

This concept probably applies to all thrift stores, not just Goodwill. Monday is usually when the sale changes. Many thrift stores such as Goodwill and Savers have a specific color of tag that is on sale for the week. Usually the tag color changes on Sunday or Monday.
