[Top 10] Warframe Best AMP Combinations (2024)

After completing the War Within, you’ll unlock a new ability called “Transference,” which allows you to directly control your Operator. While not nearly as powerful as Warframes, Operators still have some abilities to help them take down enemies.

The primary way to deal damage as an Operator is to channel their Void Beam through a wrist-mounted device called an Amp. Amps effectively serve as your Operator’s weapon, crafted using a modular system that, like Zaws and Kitguns, allows you to combine three parts:

  • Prism: dictates the mode of primary fire of your Amp
  • Scaffold: dictates the type of secondary fire
  • Brace: adds bonus stats

There are currently up to seven different options for each part, which you can buy from the Quills or Vox Solaris factions. If you’re not sure which parts to pick, read on for a list of the best Amps in Warframe.

10. 1-1-1 (Best for new players)

[Top 10] Warframe Best AMP Combinations (1)

In terms of improving your Amp, your first step should be to get rid of your Mote Amp. Seriously. The Mote Amp is given to you for free by the Quills once you visit them in Cetus, and is as powerful as it is expensive: that is, not at all.

The first Amp you can purchase and build is known by players as the 1-1-1. This means that all three parts (Prism, Scaffold, and Brace) are Tier 1at the Quills.

As you level up and gain access to more Amp parts, you’ll want to build something more powerful, but for now the 1-1-1 Amp should be your priority.

What the 1-1-1 Amp Excels in:

  • Easy to get, cheap to build
  • A significant upgrade to the Mote Amp
  • Allows you to begin Eidolon-hunting, leading to access to more Amps

1-1-1 Build:

  • Raplak prism: Long-range, semi-automatic, hitscan laser
  • Pencha scaffold: Mid-range beam
  • Clapkra brace: Increases Operator energy pool

9. 2-1-2 (Best low-level amp)

[Top 10] Warframe Best AMP Combinations (2)

If you’ve already gotten to rank 2 with the Quills before building a 1-1-1, the 2-1-2 provides a decent upgrade to your Mote Amp without too much grinding.

It also gives you a peek into how much diversity is possible with the Amp’s system of modular design: the Shwaak prism provides a shotgun-style blast with punchthrough rather than the sniper-style shot of the Raplak prism.

This makes it easier to hit multiple targets, especially Vomvalysts in the Plains of Eidolon.

What the 2-1-2 Amp Excels in:

  • Hitting multiple enemies at short range
  • Easy to build
  • Better suited to Eidolon hunting than the 1-1-1

2-1-2 Build:

  • Shwaak prism: Shotgun-style, short-range blast with punchthrough
  • Pencha scaffold: Mid-range beam
  • Juttni brace: Decreases energy recharge delay

8. 2-2-3 (Best Quills Amp for Eidolon Hunts)

[Top 10] Warframe Best AMP Combinations (3)

Once you start preparing to tackle Tridolon (fighting the Teralyst, Gauntulyst, and Hydrolyst in the Plains of Eidolon) hunts in a group, you’ll need an Amp that’s up for the challenge.

The original meta-Amp, the 2-2-3 uses the secondary fire as a grenade shot to effectively take out Eidolon’s shielding. Shoot the projectile into the Eidolon’s leg, as it does damage even before exploding.

The shotgun-style primary is great to deal with Vomvalysts, while the brace gives you increased crit chance and status chance.

What the 2-2-3 Amp Excels in

  • Great for Eidolon hunting
  • Requires only Cetus reputation and materials
  • Strong enough to deal with most enemies

2-2-3 Build:

  • Shwaak prism: Shotgun-style, short-range blast with punchthrough
  • Shraksun scaffold: Explosive grenade
  • Lohrin brace: Increases status and critical chance

7. 2-3-6 (Best for Kuva Siphons)

[Top 10] Warframe Best AMP Combinations (4)

One of the final uses for Amps is for harvesting kuva from a siphon.

During harvesting, clouds of kuva energy will fly towards the siphon. If enough kuva is collected, the harvest will fail. In order to prevent that, your Operator must absorb the kuva instead by damaging it using Void energy.

While you can do this with the Void Blast or Void Dash abilities, having the right Amp can make things a lot easier for you.

The 2-3-6 Amp uses the Shwaak prism for a mid-range AoE shotgun blast, as well as the Klebrik scaffold for a beam that automatically targets enemies. Both of these make it really easy to destroy the kuva cloud, even when you have a hard time locating it.

What the 2-3-6 Amp Excels in:

  • Requires almost no effort to hit kuva clouds
  • Punchthrough on Shwaak prism makes it easy even with many enemies around
  • Almost infinite Amp energy with the Plaga brace

2-3-6 Build:

  • Shwaak prism: Shotgun-style, short-range blast with punchthrough
  • Klebrik scaffold: Continuous beam, homes in on nearby targets
  • Plaga brace: Reduced energy, shortened Amp recharge delay

6. 7-4-7 (Best for Star Chart missions)

[Top 10] Warframe Best AMP Combinations (5)

If you want a change of pace in your regular missions, try running around as an Operator.

Without bullet jumping, defensive mods, or arsenal of weapons, using the Operator is much more difficult than playing in your Warframe. However, it’s still very possible to complete aa mission this way thanks to the Operator’s powerful abilities and the Amp.

Doing Void damage with the Amp makes it quite useful against a variety of enemies, as few have resistance to it. Amps also have high base damage to account for their lack of mods, making them easy to use once you’ve actually built them.

This Amp uses a short range beam and a bouncing projectile to increase AoE damage against groups of enemies, while having the Certus brace to boost its damage against high level enemies.

As a final tip, you’ll definitely want to install arcanes for your Operator (Magus) and for your Amp (Virtuous) to boost your damage and survivability if you’re going to be using your Operator a lot.

What the 7-4-7 Amp Excels in:

  • High damage against star chart enemies
  • Good AoE potential with bouncing projectile
  • Especially good at popping nullifier bubbles

7-4-7 Build:

  • Klamora prism: Wide-spread, short-range beam
  • Phahd scaffold: glaive-like projectile that bounces between enemies
  • Certus brace: Increased critical chance

5. 4-4-7 (Best for Profit Taker and Ropalolyst)

[Top 10] Warframe Best AMP Combinations (6)

Though Eidolons are currently the core of their use, Amps aren’t just for Eidolon hunting. The world boss on Venus, the Profit Taker orb, also uses Amps as part of the fight mechanics.

The key points in which you need an Amp for the Profit taker are to a) cycle the shield’s resistances, and b) break the pylons. This Orb boss has a specialized shielding that protects it from all damage, allowing only one type of damage through.

While you’ll need to bring multiple weapons to cover the different possible damage types, you can also shoot the Orb with void energy (your Amp) to cycle the damage vulnerability.

In addition, the shield pylons summoned in certain phases of the fight can be instantly destroyed by the Phahd scaffold’s projectile, making it useful for the fight.

What the 4-4-7 Amp Excels in:

  • Best for Profit Taker and Ropalolyst bosses
  • Long range Rahn prism can easily cycle damage resistance
  • Phahd scaffold’s glaive projectile instantly destroys objects like shield pylons

4-4-7 Build:

  • Rahn prism: Full-auto, long range shots
  • Phahd scaffold: glaive-like projectile that bounces between enemies
  • Certus brace: Increased critical chance

4. 5-4-7 (Best alternative for Profit Taker and Ropalolyst)

[Top 10] Warframe Best AMP Combinations (7)

Another good choice for Profit Taker is building your Amp with a Cantic prism rather than the Rahn. Cantic offers an accurate three-shot burst compared to the full-auto of the Rahn, helping you get precise shots at range.

What the 5-4-7 Amp Excels in:

  • Best for Profit Taker and Ropalolyst bosses
  • Long range Cantic prism can easily cycle damage resistance
  • Phahd scaffold’s glaive projectile instantly destroys objects like shield pylons

5-4-7 Build:

  • Cantic prism: Three-shot burst, long range
  • Phahd scaffold: glaive-like projectile that bounces between enemies
  • Certus brace: Increased critical chance

3. 2-2-7 (Overall best Amp for Eidolon Hunting)

[Top 10] Warframe Best AMP Combinations (8)

With Fortuna came Vox Solaris, a Venusian organization that works with the Quills. Going up the ranks with Vox Solaris grants you access to new Operator equipment, including new Amp parts.

A few of these parts have become meta, with players able to mix and match Amp parts from Cetus and Fortuna to create their own combinations.

The Certus brace in particular offers a large critical chance bonus, and improvement over the Lohrin brace, making it popular for Eidolon hunting. Eidolons are immune to Status effects, so losing out the increased status chance from the Lohrin brace isn’t an issue.

What the 2-2-7 Amp Excels in:

  • Great for Eidolon hunting
  • Increased critical chance makes it stronger than 2-2-3
  • Doesn’t require specific build to use

2-2-7 Build:

  • Shwaak prism: Shotgun-style, short-range blast with punchthrough
  • Shraksun scaffold: Explosive grenade
  • Certus brace: Increased critical chance

2. 6-2-7 (Meta build for Eidolon hunting)

[Top 10] Warframe Best AMP Combinations (9)

While the 2-2-7 Amp is a powerful pick that anyone can craft and use, the most dedicated Tridolon hunters go with the 6-2-7.

This Amp trades the Shwaak prism for the Lega, a flamethrower-style prism that hits rapidly at short range. When paired with the Void Strike ability from the Madurai focus tree, this allows you to dump a lot of damage into the Eidolon’s shield in a quick burst.

Void Strike is an ability that gives your next few attacks increased damage for every second you spend in Void Mode. Organized teams usually have at least one person charging up their Void Strike to instantly destroy the Eidolon’s shield while the rest of the team attacks its weak points.

What the 6-2-7 Amp Excels in:

  • Best way to utilize Void Strike’s damage boost
  • Can instantly burst down Eidolon shields
  • High damage in short range

6-2-7 Build:

  • Lega prism: flamethrower-like, short-range, area of effect, rapid fire
  • Shraksun scaffold: Explosive grenade
  • Certus brace: Increased critical chance

1. 6-7-7 (Hardest-hitting Amp for Eidolon hunts)

[Top 10] Warframe Best AMP Combinations (10)

With a 6-7-7 Amp, you’ll be using the Lega prism with the Propa scaffold and Certus brace. The key in this build is the Propa scaffold, which launches a timed explosive that does an insane amount of damage.

The problem with the Propa is that its damage comes out after a delay. It can be tricky to gain its full benefit, especially if you’re new to Eidolon hunts or trying to get the right angle through a Volt shield.

However, used correctly it edges out the Shraksun scaffold in terms of damage.

What the 6-7-7 Amp Excels in:

  • High-damage secondary fire, especially with Crit
  • Can outperform the 2-2-7 in Eidolon hunts
  • Requires positioning and skill to use well

6-7-7 Build:

  • Lega prism: flamethrower-like, short-range, area of effect, rapid fire
  • Propa scaffold: Timed explosive, can hover in midair
  • Certus brace: Increased critical chance
